I put together a quick video of Lucy. She’s a bit bigger now. Yes, I am that guy. But honestly, if you had a dog this great, wouldn’t you be obsessed? She is very smart. I tried to teach her to sit and stay in English but she only responds to Latin, which, if you think about it, is quite smart because it is a root language.

My sister got a black lab last summer, and he’s far too smart by half. When he wants attention, he finds something that’s not his and very expensive and brings it to her as a kind of “threat.”
Two recommendations: kongs (especially the kind you can fill with peanut butter, etc) and sticks

i just found out about your blog today so i don’t know if mentioned having dogs before.. but my first puppy/dog ever is a month shy from being a year old now.. and she still loves taking the stuffing out of pillows, blankets, a felix the cat plush doll, etc. so if you don’t take stuff away from her now she’ll keep doing it thinking it’s ok.. anything you don’t want her to do you have to take it away and say a stern no at the same time.. and i’m convinced that all labs love plastic water bottles.. my bf’s yellow lab looooves plastic water bottles.. and our puppy is a husky/lab mix.. she’s brown like lucy but with the blue husky eyes!
oh yeah.. and don’t worry.. you ARE no man’s woman!
Don – I posted a comment earlier on this post about my dearly departed Sassy–I thought I’d give you an update. There’s a new Sassy in our lives, and would you believe it–she’s a lab! Sassy’s a shelter dog and she just claimed us. Once my mom saw her, there was no turning back.
