Thomas Nelson Publishers has been working hard for the better part of a year on a really cool concept. For the rerelease of Searching for God Knows What (I updated the book with some new chapters) they created a game complete with prizes. If you’re small group is looking for a book to go through for summer, this one has some really cool added features. You can literally win artwork, music, autographed books, other people’s books and even a signed picture of my dog Lucy. The way it works is there are secret codes embedded in the book and a game sheet in the back. You win by going online and entering your answers. There will be hundreds of winners of lots and lots of real prizes. So if you’re up for it, give it a try. Here’s a bit more about the contest:
About every five years, a book that is still selling well will get a bit of a revamp. I’m glad this book is still out there doing well, and I’m incredibly honored that Thomas Nelson would do something this innovative around a rerelease. It’s book history! Thanks team!

I’ve just finished reading your book “Searching for God knows what” and as a, sort of new Christian, it helped me a great deal. I kept reading aloud, to my husband, several points that I found profoundly understanding of the grace and unyielding love of God. Well done, I have grown immensely more mature as a result of your work. But I also feel moved to express a concern. You have so much to offer but could feel your left lean and I don’t think you felt any desire to keep that out of the book. This can only serve to alienate a huge group of people, I started questioning if I was even forgivable for being a conservative. I didn’t start out this way, I was a Democrat for most of my life however now feel as though I somehow need to explain the switch to justify being eligible for Gods love. The Clinton Administration did it, not Monica, or even NAFTA, which cost me my job of 17 years, but signing an alliance, with a Country know for horrific Civil Rights violations, China, giving them ‘most favored nation’ status. I was ashamed, before God for being born an American. I was actually glad to be unemployed for the first time in my life, that I wasn’t paying taxes for such an alliance. I am now unemployed for the second time, don’t get me wrong this has nothing to do really with money or political leanings, to be honest I would call myself a fence sitter, politically. I just think if you want to share the love of God, as you surely do and do well, that you take extra care to extend that love to all. I know, I know, I’m sounding all PC, fence sitter that I am, but I enjoyed your book so much and their are so many Christian and non Christians that I can’t recommend it to. I, on several occasions, had to press on beyond some of the things being said to get to the truth of the book. I’m just saying, this is my first Donald Miller book and I got so much out of it and when I am moved so deeply, I want to share it and I find I can only share it with my liberal friends, most of whom are non believers, so who knows maybe I can get them to read it. The message is just so beautiful and I know this is a part of your writing style that made it such a good read, I just wish you had found a way to not show the side of the life boat you were on (past tense). God Bless you, Donald Miller for glorifying Him so well. I’m going to go visit your blog to see if this is a consistent theme. I hope not, I hate politics
