Kickstarter is no longer counting down the days for the Save Blue Like Jazz campaign. They’ve switched over to counting down the hours. Unless each of us become multi-millionaires, this may be our last opportunity to invest in a movie. Please join us today.
Before we roll into Monday, when we will be asking people to run full-court press up to the deadline, I wanted to give you one last video update (there will be tons more once we start shooting, but this will be the last regarding joining the team). A few things we want to promise:
1. After the campaign, we won’t leave you in the dark. We have two blogs planned, a production blog and an investor relations blog. We are even planning conference calls in which you will be able to call in and hear weekly updates from the set (technology allowing).
2. If you give even one dollar, you will be on a list of high-priority partners. We will be emailing you shortly after the campaign closes asking for your phone number (I will be calling you personally to thank you) and mailing address (you will be the first to get promotional swag). So if you don’t have a ton of dough, drop a buck in the bucket and you’ll get much more than a dollars worth of stuff in return.
3. Help us lean hard into Monday. We will never get this opportunity again. Join us. A movie like this normally has a few investors. This film already has 2600. It’s unprecedented. CNN has picked up the story, and the Atlantic picked it up this weekend, along with about 20 other outlets, all in a few weeks. Invite everybody you know to be part of history. You can help us by putting this link everywhere you can: http://tinyurl.com/2vudtwg
4. The world changes very quickly when somebody tells a remarkable story for the first time. This is a very honest film. The real life of the average evangelical is lived in the closet, and it’s honestly never been captured in a movie. We are busting the closet open. Be part of the story with us.
CLARIFICATION: In the video, I say “until the movie releases on DVD” and by that I mean after the theatrical release. Yes, we have every intention of doing a national, theater release. I just meant we’d be in touch with you well after it left theaters, all the way through DVD.
